by the end of this session you will have learned the following about
computers:
- Learn how to find any topic that interest you
- Learn how to locate a particular items of interest to you.
Let's
cover a few of the basics:
- There is a difference between searching and surfing the Internet.
Surfing is going over the surface much like riding the waves.
Searching is targeted, looking for a particular item or items.
- Not everything you will want to find is on-line. While you will
find lots of free sites, not everything is free. Much of
the Internet is one big store that takes credit cards or checks
to get that special item that you have been trying to find for
months.
- Looking for a particular item takes time and patience. Searching
on-line is fun,but it does take time. When you are ready
to search by yourself, set aside an hour or two so that you can
fully enjoy the adventure.
